Presenter:
Brad Burgess
Involved in the Surveying and Mapping industry since 1980, Brad has worked as a draftsman for a photogrammetric mapping firm and held several land surveying positions, including a tour in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Construction Surveyor. Over the last 20 (+) years, Brad has worked in technical sales, sales management, and business development for some of the world’s leading A/E/C technology manufacturers (including Autodesk), all the while focused on accelerating the adoption of emerging 3D technologies.

Description:
From as-built surveys in BIM (Building Information Model) applications, to QA/QC surveys and material stockpile measurements, 3D Laser Scanning technology is quickly becoming a more integral part of today’s A/E/C workflows. This presentation is to serve as an educational overview of 3D Laser Scanning technology itself, while offering practical suggestions on how best to start engaging with point cloud data. Also included will be a BIM Case Study and demonstration of a 3D laser Scanner.

Experience Level: All
